About the Recipe

You've tried the fast-food version with mystery ingredients, now you can make this quickly and low-carb at home!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg ground beef

  • 1 small head of cabbage, sliced thin

  • 1 large diced onion

  • Healthy fat for frying. I like beef tallow

  • Nutritional Yeast

  • Shredded cheese - I prefer Violife brand for dairy-free

  • Dill pickle slices

  • Burger sauce - combine mayo, ketchup, relish, and mustard or horseradish

Preparation

  1. In a heavy skillet, brown the ground beef, adding salt and pepper to taste.

  2. While that is cooking, chop the cabbage into fine strips after removing the outside leaves.

  3. When the ground beef is cooked, add in the cabbage and chop an onion.

  4. Reserve some of the onion to serve raw with the final dish but add most of it to the pan for added flavour.

  5. While that is cooking, stir often adding salt and pepper to taste. Add a TBSP of Nutritional yeast to give it extra cheesy flavour. Adding garlic or onion powder in will also enhance.

  6. Make the sauce by mixing Mayo, ketchup, relish and horseradish (or mustard) together.

  7. Slice some pickles. Add these, cheese shreds and raw onions right before serving.

  8. Place mixture in a bowl and top with the sauce!

Enjoy!
