5. Crowding out...

What you think about expands. That's one of the simplest and profound tools I've learned. Our brains are so amazing and complex and hardwired to provide us with more thoughts, feeling and memories when we think a thought, enabling us to build on that thought. This can also cause us to spiral into a pit of despair. It's why we can feel overwhelmed. It's why we feel even more annoyed when we think about how annoying something is. But we can use it to benefit us as well! I like this concept called "crowding out" where, instead of focusing on things we shouldn't say/feel/eat/think/do, we start introducing the things that are better! For example- another way to get rid of inflammation would be to start ditching and switching your personal care products. So you ran out of toothpaste? Why not replace it with a better version?( I'm not talking about drugstore brands here I'm talking about healthy alternatives made with natural ingredients.) There are toothpastes that have essential oils in them or tooth powders that aren't abrasive. Deodorants contain chemicals and heavy metals that can be contributing to alzheimers or breast cancer - ditch those and look for something like #nativedeodorant that actually works! Instead of using chemicals to clean your house, look up recipes that use baking soda and vinegar or other less harmful things like #thievesoil. Eventually all of these better things will crowd out the harmful ones! When it comes to food, start by eating more fruits and vegetables! Look up recipes that you'll like and try new things to start enjoying the abundant health benefits that they offer! Instead of being bored with food, explore and try new things! Instead of listing off your ailments to yourself and getting bummed about all of the things you used to do but can't anymore, look at all the things you can do!! I bet you haven't tried creating something in a while if you've had despairing thoughts lately. You'd be amazed how creating something can enliven you! #neuroendocrine #neuroendocrinecancer #raredisease #fuckcancer #multipleendocrineneoplasia #healthylifestyle #positivity #inflammation #createinspirepositivity #foodismedicine #chemicalfreeliving
